The Wary traveler

The wary traveler enters the Inn. He stops just inside the door and waits. His wary eyes scan the room as if searching for something. The Inn keeper and his wife at the check-in counter. A young married couple are checking in. Our traveler passes over the couple quickly; they are probably not what he is searching for. Next the grand staircase imposingly presents itself directly in front of our traveller. What a wondrously large and extravagant place this small quaint Inn has become in only a few short years. Large palm trees to the right of the grand staircase remove anyone's thoughts from the snow filled February outside. Beneath the palms there is a reading area filled with books and comfertable chairs.

Upon closer examination our traveller recognizes Alfred and Wanda Vonvell at the check-in counter. As our traveler realizes this, he begins to watch them more closely as he moves towards the reading area. His muscels are tired and he hopes his search is finally nearing an end.

dictation software?

This is the first things I have written with my new dictation software. I am hoping that this will help me write things faster than I do now. It still feels like writing I get a think about what I want to say it's not like talking to somebody, if only it were that easy.

Money doesn't buy love

Money does buy happiness, if only for short periods of time.

Money is a necessary(?) evil.

Nobody reads this

I went to a wedding this weekend. Saw old friends ones I won't see for a few years at least. Good times.
So many unrealized realities to contemplate. So much past to wade through until I find the future.
How will I complete my thesis? They arn't making that one easy.

ex: September 2006
I was going through random blogs and I found this one. This particular blog is for Keiichirou Shikano to practice his english. Someone else can correct him, I don't feel comfortable with my grasp of our wonderfull language.

Time to go to Phil Corrning's wedding.

Anniversary

Today is the one year anniversary of this blog. Soon after that point in time everything went wrong. I am only now beginning to put things back together.

Subplots

Why are the subplots so much more interesting than the main story? The main arc doesn't hold intrest it only provides a means for the others to exist.

One great thing from the Books of Dune

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

-The Litany Against Fear

Heretics of Dune, pg 16

I might graduate this century

Looks like my website is working again. I really should work on that link fest, oh well.

Good news Graduation plan A is still in effect, X is complete, Y is going to be completed soon, and I am still working on Z. As for thesis...... I need to talk with my old boss about that again. It seems he forgot about me...

More crazy random dreams I forgot.... I will have to remember to write them down tommorw morning, I feel a good one coming on. The cold weather will do that.

The Question

What is life really about?

The wonderous word

I find myself woolgathering recently. I haven't really worked on Z for a while now. Which is what I should really be doing.

No dreams to speak of the past few days, kinda dissapointing... oh well.

I want off this planet

I have been reading and re-reading the Dune series. It started when I got back home around mid september. I started reading the Butlarian Jihad in Spring 2003 I Had to reread it from the beguning. After that The machine Crusade, and the Battle for Corrin. After that God Emperor of Dune, and now Heretics of Dune, Then I will read Chapterhouse and Finnaly the book that just came out in August; Hunters of Dune.

Dune itself and Messiah, Children of, can wait for later. I believe that God Emperor is the Pennical of the series It is Philosiphial and a good brain book. I will probably read it again before I read Dune for the second time.

These are all the dune books in Dune Universe chronological order

The Butlerian Jihad
The Machine Crusade
The Battle of Corrin

House Atreides
House Harkonnen
House Corrino

Paul of Dune*

Dune
Dune Messiah
Children of Dune

God Emperor of Dune
Heretics of Dune
Chapterhouse Dune

Hunters of Dune
Sandworms of Dune*

* Forthcomming

Its longer and more encompasing than anything tv could possibly show. I do need to find another good book series though...

what is the difference?

Do these two statements mean the same thing?

1. Something, somewhere whent terribly wrong.

2. Somewhere, something whent terribly wrong.

Personnaly I like the way the second one sounds. but the question remains do they mean the same thing. I don't know.

Dreams are fun

Here is some background knowledge for you; I'm driving a new vehicle around its a 1995 Isuzu Trooper with 166K miles on it. It has been sitting for about a year so after we did some work on it in Hatfield I took it out to kettering to try to finish my degree. The rear muffler is falling off it, and there is a hole in the exaust system higher in the fuel system, so it is loud as hell. Not a bad vehicle other than the fuel ecomeny is 18 MPG.

So in the dream I had last night I was testing something that needed to be fixed which required me to drive the vehicle. As the vehicle is moving down the driveway I realize can't stop it. I try to bail out but the door handle doesn't work. I turn off the engine realizing whats going to happen would ruin it.

Through the fence down into the cow pasture, SPLASH. The cow pasture is usually filled with water it never seems to drain. This is when the dream gets weird. I finnaly manage to open the door and I begin paddling my way out of the cow pasture using the Trooper like it is a boat. In reality the thing weighs 2.5 tons but in the dream world its much less than that more like 40 lbs. Realizing this I lift the Tooper over the fense back onto the road and start pusing it back home. Suddenly an oger starts chasing me.

I yell to my dad to break out the guns and kill the oger as I go for the glove box to get my desert eagle out of there. In reality neither my father or me own guns. At this point the dream gets kinda hazy for a bit. I think the oger dies or dissappears either way its gone. After that me and my father are talking about the troopers condition. I mention that the engine is fine, the electrical system just needs to dry out because of the time it spent in the cow pasture full of water. It is at this point that I wake up realizing that my real Trooper is fine and the electrical system doesn't need to dry out because it has been in the garage all night.

cascade effect

Well my blog seems to be working, it doesn't display quite correctly but oh well.

Well I realized where it all went wrong. The title says it all cascade effect. One after another things fell out of place. I must admit it is still difficult to stay focused on working but I can mange. It is getting easier as time goes on. Life without video games makes that easier.
